I've started my Peace Silver Dollar set. While purchasing Peace Silver Dollars, I acquired few that are PCGS graded, NGC graded, and ANACS graded. I'm at point I need to get my Peace Silver dollar graded by one TPG. Which Set Registry would be better down the road - PCGS vs NGC ?

Based on benefits, it looks like PCGS provides better prices than NGC. Also, PCGS seems to be definitely marketing better than NGC overall.

For me it was a simple choice.
NGC.

Why?
Because they accept both NGC and PCGS graded coins in their Registry Sets.
With ANACS-slabbed coins you have no choice; you HAVE to do a crossover.
I have about 10 NGC Registry Sets.

Also if you do crossovers remember to add that cost in your inventory to the amount you paid for the coin.

And remember the adage, "Buy the coin, not the slab."
When you put an NGC slabbed coin next to a PCGS slabbed coin of the same grade most times it comes down to eye appeal, not the slab.

There is a perception in Australia that a coin graded by NGC is equivalent to a PCGS coin graded 1 pint lower.
I don't personally hold to this perception but never the less a coin graded by PCGS will out sell a similar coin of the same grade in a NGC slab here.
Consequently the majority of coins Australian collectors/dealers send away to be graded are sent to PCGS.

I have a membership with both NGC and PCGS but all my 16 registry sets are with PCGS .

I've never looked into NGC for a registry set yet, but with PCGS, when you have a certain percentage of your set complete, they will give you a free grading of a coin to assist you in completing or upgrading your set. They seem to have more resources out there to help you in collecting too like their price guide app and now they are giving their Coin Facts service for free so that gives you all the information on all their coins and some of the market prices and auction prices of NGC equivalent coins that have been sold.

Another think to keep in mind is PCGS only accepts PCGS graded coins in their registry. NGC accepts both. If you really want them all in one TPG, PCGS may be the better option as you can participate in both registries, as opposed to just the NGC if you go with them.

I also think one of the reasons PCGS graded coins often exceed NGC coins in price is that restriction of the registry. Possibly people want to participate in both so they prefer PCGS, and therefore are willing to pay more.
