I found this in my dads coins and think it is fake not only color but lack of detail. it is also very slightly magnetic (takes a real powerful magnet but it will stick) am I right?

Looks genuine but plated and polished. Essentially worthless.

1907 is the highest mintage IHC they produced with over 100 million. Without looking too closely I would guess it was plated with something that has worn off which makes it slightly magnetic.

It would' be hard to think of a reason for someone to make a replica of a coi that goes for about a dollar. I agree that it was mostly likely plated when it was already worn given that it's super common and low grade. At first I could think of maybe cheap fake jewelry.

Looks like it was attached to something at the 12,3,6 and 9:00 o'clock position of the coin
Rest in Peace

It was ruined by a polishing but the coin is legitimate.
