I found this coin with some of my grandfathers things in the attic. I have a feeling it might be a fake and suggestions?

Closettreasure, to CCF.
This could be an amazing find. There are members who know this type of coin.
Lets see what they have to say.
Ps. Nice start on your pictures but holding it in your hand is a no-no.

closettreasure: more info would help with the determination (diameter, mass, whether it is attracted to a magnet, and a picture of the edge)

actually, I take that back. no authentic pine tree shilling has those words written on the coin. sorry but not real.

Has to be a historical reproduction. See how it says "Facsimile Pine Tree Shilling International Sterling" written around the date?

Amida nailed it. Advertising replica. I believe it's sterling silver. I sold one of these a while back.

Value: A few bucks.

It is a replica made by International Sterling, the company who makes sterling flatware. It is still mildly collectible. In high grade it is worth about $35.

If this were real it would have easily sold for over a thousand dollars. Like BPO stated earlier, best to not use your bare hands to hold these rare coins. Might want to get a pair of nitrile or cotton gloves. Would hate for you to lose money on any coins you find by mishandling. Just a friendly suggestion. We all look forward to your future finds!
