My gut feeling would be 8000 MoR that were struck in 1992, that may not carry the year '1992' on them; possibly the end of the 1991 run. This is something I keep running into researching German Third Reich stuff. The best known example is 1.2 Million or so 1944D 1Rpf that was minted in May-June 1945 under the Allied Occupation!

There is no 1992 $1 MOR. The Barcelona Dollar was the 1992 $1 coin issue.
Also issued in 1992 was the Australian One Dollar Coin Set. This set contained 5 'restruck' coins, i.e., a 1984 and 1985 MOR, a 1986 Year of Peace, a 1988 First Fleet Bicentenary and a 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games.
There is no circulated, mint set or proof 1992 MOR.
With reference to numbers minted, you should keep in mind that to get the number of coins minted in any given year, you need to read the annual reports for two years. Annual reports are over financial years, which means that coins can still be minted and subsequently reported in the next financial year.

Are the annual reports for 1992 and 1991 available anywhere? I doubt the site has it but I have no clue where to find them.

I was WRONG... They ARE on the RAM Site: http://www.ramint.gov.au/about_ram/...l_report.cfmNow also knowing a little bit about archive trawling (tho admittedly, AUSTRALIA is such as EASY Numismatic Subject to research!), you may also want to check out the Dept of Treasury... Ive taken the liberty of doing a small search for you... http://www.treasury.gov.au/search_a...fullReferer=http://www.treasury.gov.au/contentlist.asp%3Fclassification=10&titl=Annual%2520Reports&ContentID=519&Search.x=13&Search.y=20 Cut and paste that and you should see the results... Also, as I understand it, for documents pre-1990 (the quick look I just had seems to suggest digitised copies only go back as far as 1990) you should only really have to submit a Freedom of Information Act request (Maybe not even that; you'd be surprised what ppl will give you if you just find the right person and ask nicely!) and possibly cover reproduction costs. And on that Subject, RAM actually Issued Bound AGR's from what I can tell. So theyre probably sitting in a Library or Archive somewhere that you maybe able to visit, once you find out where they are... Again, a short note to RAM may help... (That said, the emails I have sent to RAM and Perth Mint have gone unanswered! S!!). Enjoy your archive trawling! :)

OK, I just went and did some research, and Realised that, just before posting, I was researching the WRONG YEAR! It is NOT the 2002 we are interested in, but the 1992 1 Dollar. Alas, those resports ARE NOT ONLINE, but I'm sure under FOI, they can be got! (I have actually just emailed RAM asking about AGR's pre-2000) BUT Just in case anyone was thinking, "So, what about 2002 MoR's?", this is what I came up with... UTTERLY USELESS of course, as we all know there is no such thing... But yeah, I am an idiot! ------------------------------------------------------------ 2002 MoR - Yay or Nay?First PDF, RAM AGR FY01/02 (Reference 1). Page 53 outline the Coins/Denominations/year issued in that FY. I draw your attention to the $1 Outback 2002 being issued, BUT NO OTHER 2002 $1 Issued in this FY: 1 Dollar - Outback - 2002 - Aluminium Bronze - 18.049 (Million) Now for FY02/03 things get harder to find as they seem to have rolled the RAM AGR into the Treasury Report (Reference 2), BUT, if you head for "Output 3.1.5 - Circulating coin and like products" In part 2 (there are Web Versions ( http://www.treasury.gov.au/document...P796_165707) and a PDF version) version, Or if you get the PDF, Page 105 we will find in Table 6 the following: 1 Dollar - Outback - 2002 - Aluminium Bronze - 16.025 (Million)An NO OTHER MENTION OF $1 coin issues! Now BY LAW these reports HAVE to be correct and accurate. And thus, I have to conclude, there is no such coin as 2002 MoR. Cited References: 1) Royal Australian Mint - Annual Report 2001/2002 Issued by: Royal Australian Mint FY01/02 Data: http://www.ramint.gov.au/about_ram/...M2001-02.pdf2) Treasury Annual Report 2002-2003 Issued by: Australian Federal Government, Dept of Treasury FY02/03 Data: http://www.treasury.gov.au/document..._2002_03.pdf

And don't get confused when they cite the word 'Standard' issue. Standard does not refer to the MoR. Standard refers to whatever the circulating coin of that year is.

Yass, actually from what Ive noticed in the RAM AGR's, theyre quite explicit about what is on each coin, eg the 2001 releases! But as for the comlaw site, that is cool! thanks for that!

Again tho, the problem with the Federal Government is that these documents in Digital Form, tend to go back not much further than FY99/2000 :(
I emailed RAM BTW, but no reply yet... Theyre hopeless at replying to emails!
