161955852494Yes, it's stamped copy, therefore it's being sold illegally. Why the price of $99, I don't know. If it was a dollar I'd probably buy it since it's so unique, lol. Why on earth would this even be made?

I laughed so hard when I saw this coin... This counterfeiter probably should look at a legitimate example instead of winging the design. Looks like one of those generic silver rounds on a smaller scale.. But even those look WAY closer to the real design.. I too have no idea way this coin was made...

Doesn't look good unless it was silver plated which would be the funniest thing ever.

I contacted the guy. He didn't mean to say it was gold and is changing it lol. There goes the best reason it would be $90 unless he went with the suggested opening bid lol

I agree with mcanniz that it looks like play money' also, I'm glad to see COPY on the obverse.

I like how the seller uses models to promote the patches and signs that he has for sale.

Mangemesjambes, as long as it says "COPY", which it does, it is legal to make, own or sell under the U. S. Hobby Act. It is against ebay policies to sell it, as they no longer allow copies (unless you are in China it seems), but he is breaking no law at all.

For the same reason you can find 500 counterfeit coins from China on ebay at any one time. ebay can't/doesn't self police this very well. Bobby does a Herculean job of ridding ebay of US and Canadian counterfeits, but like Hercules and the Augean (sp?) stables, it is a never ending task.

This is why I only buy graded and slabbed coins off ebay. The thing is they are no more expensive than coins that are raw. You can buy graded Buffalo's on ebay all day long. Why even risk it? I agree that ebay is loose as a goose when it comes to what they sell. It used to be worse. I remember when you just paid your money took your chances. I buy coins on ebay that I cannot find locally. Expensive coins I just leave in the slab. When fake slabs become a big issue that will be the day I don't buy from ebay. I think Buffalo's are selling at discount on ebay now. You can pay F prices for VF coins easy. EF-AU starts to revert to retail and overpriced IMO.
