Did anyone buy the 2005 Proof Silver Dollar with Red Enamel? I wonder how it looks in-hand? Its a limited edition too.

This coin is sold out at the RCM. Its going for over $200 on ebay, issue price was $99. I don't know anything about canadian coins and was wondering what the trend is, will it continue to rise or will it come down?
Rest in Peace

I collect Canadian, but have yet to buy a colored coin. I'm far from an expert, but I have friends who are betting the price will come down, although probably not by too much.

I've bought two of them from the Mint ( the limit was two per customer).
It is a little bit smaller than the Silver Maple Leaf and I would say that the overall appearance is not something really striking ( I like the normal Silver Maple Leaf better ).
The proof finish is nice, and the Canadian flag, being colored, gives a nice contrast, but I would've liked it more if it had some frosting (on the coin, not the flag).
But I am not an expert.I collect coins because I like them.
If you want I can take some close ups and e-mail them to you.

Hi Abyss,
I bought one, wish I had bought two because they're doubled the price on ebay now. It was my first colored, I like it.

I bought of these coins and it was quite expensive. I paid $348.88 from https://www.colonialacres.com which is an excellent site to buy Canadian and world coins from. Their price is not $399.99. I hope the price continues to rise so I feel the buy was worth it.I suggest for those who enjoy collecting Canadian coins to check out the Colonial Acres web site!

Hmmmm... Their ebay feedback well, ummm, stinks.

I looked at a bunch of their listings and the pictures are not good. You can't see any of the detail. I personally wouldn't buy from them.

ColonialAcres is not a bad dealer in itself.I think the problem is that they have a few kids working there who don't give a duck about anything, and maybe that's why they screw up on ebay sometimes.
I went to their shop a few times, but don't expect any kind of service there. If you know what you're after, good,if not, don't send the kid on the back to get you a silver set ( like I did),because 30 seconds later he'll come munching on some MM's looking at you like he never seen you before...and obviously with no coins
Didn't even bother to remind him why he went there in the first place.I just paid for whatever I was getting, and even then he had no recollection at all.But I've bought from their web site, and though slow ( could be Canada Post too),got the stuff ordered.
