When's the last time you saw one of these? I went down to my LCS today to satisfy my silver fix. Found this in a bucket of halves. I just thought I'd share it with ya'll.

That's why I posted it. I never saw one before either. Never even heard of one. I researched it, it's a commemorative half dollar, 90% silver. One in a lot better shape than this one sold at auction for over 14,000.00

the coins that went for that much where MS 67 and MS 67+ price guide lists them about $25 up to MS 63 then they start jumping around in prices
Rest in Peace

A wonderful find and I certainly do not want to burst your bubble, especially since you found this in the junk silver, but you can find as many of these as you want for $10-15. Nice uncirculated can be had for around $20 or less.

Don't be concerned about bursting my bubble, Mox, I researched the coin and know it's value (just a little higher than what you're thinking), but outstanding for the price of a junk half. What makes my days is owning a neat coin like this that I didn't even know existed.
The value on this one jumps nicely from grade to grade, but the one that sold at auction for $14000.00 + was MS 65.
