I got this penny from a bank roll yesterday. All the pennies were nice and shiny, ranging in dates from 2013 to 2015, and all were minted in Denver. The coins appear either BU or lightly circulated.

The one interesting coin in the bunch was this one, 2014-D. I am just starting to learn about error coins. Is this an error coin, and if so, what type? The photo is a little blurry but clearly shows the ring-like scuff on the obverse.

That's damage, not an error. Possibly from a counting machine.

You will find those on the ends of rolls a lot. The machine that crimps the rolls does that sometimes.
