First off, this coin doesn't even LOOK like a VDB to me. The mintmark doesn't match any of the ones I find, yet alone the placement.

Somehow these guys make the even the ugliest coin look good with their camera work ..... The VDB is almost non-existent, if even there ..... Poor example, if real and to be Choice AU, really?

They do however Guarantee Coin is Authentic .... And certainly this is not their first rodeo ....

Go figure!

Seller's MM Tail is smooth ... Real has Serif Type Tail at the Bottom ..... Seller's is more akin to Sans-Serif Type or just a Plain End ....

Good pics but still hard to say without in hand!

LocalCoinGuy, I think what you're seeing (or not seeing) may be due to lighting in the photo.

Here's the seller's date with shadows lightened, highlights darkened, midrtone contrast reduced:

When I overlay the seller's date onto the genuine one, the mint mark location is exact.
