I know this one I know it haha. It's a old machine that you stamp the letters yourself using a really complicated system. It was like .75 cents to make your own token. There use to be one in a shop where I vacationed for my family reunion. Each year I would stamp the year and the nsme of the event in it. You had like max 30 characters and the machine had all these levels to pull to set up the die. It took like ten minutes to set it up. Each time you got to the right letter or number you pulled the big heavy letter to stamp.

The center design was decided for you already. The store ran out of the disc finially and sold the machine to someone.

I cropped out my name. You can see how it was made letter by letter. I'm assuming people stamped names dates and locations the most. It was a super fun machine. That was the last year they had it. The reverse is always blank.

If you scroll down you find a entry on this page too. Apparently they been around since atleast the 1940's in arcades. Since most of them were made custom by teenage males you can find a lot of highly explicit and weird messages. There are 32 characters.

I use to get one of these whenever I came across a machine. There were usually in train stations and arcades.I look for these in second hand and junk stores when ever I can.I've got a few in my collection.I like the fact that most of these were overstamped since no one counted the number of letters they were useing before hand.

I wasn't aware you could counter stamp them haha. I would just stop if I messed up. Usually I would add dots as my last few characters.
Rest in Peace

I remember these too. I don't know why they were so fascinating to make but I considered making one a real treat.
