Hi I just found this 1986 d penny and the date and mint mark looks like it's doubled...Any feedback would be great since I just got started looking for error coins. Thanks!

A little blurry, but it is possible it is split plate doubling. The plating is splitting.

Is plate splitting a error or at least worth something more then face value?

I imagine that one of the reasons is that this is an initial stage for the coin to self destruct. The copper plating is only 8 microns thick. When it starts to split like this, air gets to the Zinc Alloy core and oxidation begins. It will eat the coin to the point where there is little or nothing left.
