I found a 1880 P VAM 17 in a wholesale lot of morgans I recently purchased. I was trying to figure out what the value might be, but haven't seen any sold recently. Anyone have an idea what a XF 45 - AU 53 specimen might be worth?

I don't think the 17 is a list VAM or carries much of any premium per se
Rest in Peace

For how strongly doubled that 8 is, and with the amount of people looking at this date, it is surprising that there are only 3 in the SSDC census. 1 XF, 1 AU, and 1 MS.

Well, I suppose the best thing to do is get it in an ANACS slab and throw it up on ebay to see what it can get. I saw on worthpoint that 3 of them sold in 2013, but the end prices were not visible without a subscription.
