Do they still mint 2 dollar bills? Ive heard that they've stopped minting them, but I see 2003 series all the time, but never seen any newer than that

Dillion,
yes they still do print $2 notes. The new ones are series 2003A. Ask you local branch if they can get some for you.

Bills are printed, not minted. That distinction is important since the US Mint has nothing to do with paper money- that is the realm of the BEP(Bureau of Ingraving and Printing).
Rest in Peace

Yes, of couse they are still printed. I think in small numbers which is why the 2003 issue is still being printed.

What ever amount you want. Thats a banks job to supply money. If they don't go down the street to the next one Tell them you want to open a account if they will be of service to you

Went to 6 local banks today, they all said they didn't have it and that they couldent order it because the demands wasn't high enough.

I then went downtown to 42nd street checked with 4 more banks, none of them said they had any. Wend to time square tried 5 more banks and again, none of them had any. Then I went to the last bank I was going to try. It was a chase bank on 8th ave. The teller said that they didnt have any. He then said "hold on, ill look in the safe". He said to give him 10 min and 15 min later he comes back with 50 $2 bills.

So ive come to the conclusion that most of the banks I tried probably had them, the tellers were just to lazy to verify it.

The chase branch was most helpful. They told me in the future if I want such a large number of them (i was looking for $200 worth) to call a week in advance and they will submit the order.

I think I may swap to chase now as my primary bank. My local BOA wouldn't even order them for me.
