You know, when I saw this, my mind immediately thought of the 1967 $20 gold piece...

I honestly think that a Coat of Arms coin should have been released in 2017, celebrating confederacy with a $20 face value, in gold... I think the mint struck out on this one, in terms of timing, denomination and precious metal.

Photo was on Colonial Acres website

Agree....they rushed with the coin.
It basically became stand alone edition, without to be commemorative.

One of the best designs.

Don't be surprised Roger when the Mint releases a gold version in 2017.
Everyone will scramble next year trying to get a hold of the 2016 silver version.
Just my opinion.

But basically, how it is different from the 2015 50 cents Coat of Arms Big Coin? Except being 1oz Piedfort.

Recently the RCM is beating a good theme to crap, just a simple proof versions are fine no need to crayon a coin.

It's not any different, affordability being the exception.

You guys both right.

Feels like, in the 2017, the NCLT will commemorate the confederacy, with many releases (and CoA there too), and the Mint will not forget to insert new designs and also commemorate the 25-th Anniversary of the 1967 circulation coins.
