Was At my LCS today shopping some 1877 Indians (didn't end up buying) when the dealer told me A few weeks back somebody cashed in a bag of wheats and going through them he found an AU 1877! Unreal-sold it for 2700$ and also tells me that shop does search all their circulated wheats which I figured anyway it's a pretty top notch store but that's just unreal

I agree but I believed they're a big shop and a second worker was right there vouching for him-every time I go in there there is a line of people trading stuff in-it's very hard to believe tho but I'm pretty good judge of people and I bought it they also said they've had more 1877's come through the door this past year than past 10 years combined I wonder why?

Lottery wins do happen, but they are enormously rare.

Sometimes folks get pleasure from pretending to find things.

Maybe they were just lucky.

Probably one of if not the largest most reputable shop in all central ohio-been in there many times and never heard any bull stories from them-these were two men in their 60's in the biz long time shop never has less than 10 people working at any given time they move huge volumes of stuff of course none of this makes it true but I think if anything the grade was probably embellished a bit-the 2 of them stood there basically finishing each other's lines as we were talking...

It happens more than you'd think, especially as the generation before mine starts to age and unfortunately leave inheritances, and the generation after mine doesn't seem to be as much into coins so they end up at pawn shops or LCS.
