The luster attracted me to it   I got it off the 'bay for 4.79 What grade would you give it and how do you think I did?

To me, it appears to have the dull sheen of a polished coin. I'd put the details at VF
Honestly, I probably would have passed at any price, but as long as you like it, I can't really say you went wrong for just 5 bucks.

Afraid I have to agree. The color is from a polish that still left a few carbon deposits. Price was cheap, but so is the coin.

 Worn ,cleaned ,pitted ,corroded , dirty ,ETC. That's NOT Luster your seeing.

Now that you've gotten some honest input, I will add that $4.79 isn't too bad for it. Learn from it because you won't find true mint luster on VF level cents and very rarely on XF ones either.
