Does this guy look like he was hit over the head? The line
goes through the W to the middle of his head I believe. Also
what's your thoughts as to the Liberty, above the E T R? Do
you think that's just dirt?

From what little I know, I would say it is a die crack and a lot of times with the gray above the lettering that is usually the plating splitting away. The split plating happens a lot. But I really like the die crack (very cool).

I am sure the experts will be along to give you their findings.

You did well CoinCents :D
Just to add, on "LIBERTY" you are probably seeing what some people think is doubling or a pit/lower area around devices, it's a little difficult to see in the picture. This is Die Deterioration

Mdnyte: That looks like a pretty nice crack, does it continue further?

Thank you CoinCents and BlueSolo

Yeah I was thinking Die Deterioration as
well but I wasn't sure. I went back and looked
further with that die crack and I didn't notice
how long it was. I enclosed some new pics.
I noticed by the forehead is that another crack?

Looks like a nice die crack! The letters are split plating. Could we get pics of the full coin? I want to see if the head has a RIDB or a die break or what.
Rest in Peace

I believe the die crack through the bust is sometimes referred to as a 'cracked skull'.

The first thing that came to my mind when I saw that was headache! LoL

I am out of town at the moment but when I get back I'll take a full picture
and post it. Thanks again SilverStackerKid and moxking.
