Does anyone know if ICCS has or will ever come out with a hard slab service. Ive read older forums that say they dont have the service, but I'm hoping its been introduced since that time.
I'm willing to pay extra to have the service done. Can I buy the slabs seperately and provide them at time of grading?

ICCS does not hard slab any coins as far as I know. But CCCS (who actually have a website :) will do hard or soft slabbing.

Never going to happen. They will get cordless phones and a new Remington first!

Fair enough. I'm looking to sell the coins on ebay and want them certified as I dont have a coa. I originally considered ICCS because they're down the street from me. Ill now consider cccs, PCGS, NGC. The only reason I'm hesistant to choose cccs is because I dont think theyre widely recognized outside of canada. Does anyone know any toronto based dealers I can drop a few coins at to be certified by an american grading company?

If most of your coins are Canadian geared towards the Canadian market stay with ICCS, the PCGS and NGC, cost a lot to certify due to shipping and insurance, unless the coins are really expensive.

Thank you to the members who answered my questions.
@shaft
I'm new to this coin grading thing and I find it easier and less intimidating asking my questions online vs asking what might be considered a stupid question in person.
How does the old proverb go? If you dont have anything nice to say...

Since you are so close to ICCS, they are really cool and helpful if the coins are not worth grading they will say so, but phone ahead for sure.

A couple of points here: - what is your intended market buyer expected to be? If Canadian, then most Canadian collectors like ICCS. Some Canadian collectors even crack out NGC or PCGS holdered coins and submit them to ICCS. - PCGS for Canadian coins is fine, but generally, they should be in the upper ends of grades and value. I don't submit Canadian coins to PCGS for resale, unless they have a shot at being a top 20 coin. - ICCS offers volume discounts ($6.50 per coin, in batches of 100 or more). PCGS and NGC cost more than CCCS hard slabs, blame the low Canadian dollar for that. - There is some paperwork involved with shipping coins back and forth across the Canada-US border. This can be a headache, if the coins are of considerable value. You do have the advantage of hand delivery and pick up with ICCS. Canadian Coins & Currency (I think they are a NGC and PCGS authorized dealers). You could ask Jared Stapleton at Metro Coin & Banknote for PCGS submissions. Expect to pay a fee for the dealer's time in handling, submitting and the customs paperwork. You can also become a PCGS or NGC member and submit the coins yourself. http://www.PCGS.com/howtosubmit/
