Has anyone had any experience with this or do you have any comments on it?

edit: I accidentally posted this in the wrong forum. It should be in Numismatic Software and Supplies I think.

Personally, I haven't heard of anyone using that for coins. Have you considered the Digital Blue QX5? The price is very similar, and a lot of collectors have gotten nice results. I have one, and find it pretty effective. Here's an example photo:

I got mine at a place called toygroove.com -- very easy to buy there/quick shipping.

I have no experience with it but just so you won't be disappointed... it's only 5X. Forget about the digital numbers because digital zooms are basically worthless.

And just so you know...the QX5 has 10X, 60X, and 200X settings. The above photo is 60X, which I find very useful for photographing DDOs, RPDs, etc.

Kind of expesive. What gets me is the add says not available in stores and there is a Target store a few miles from me. Around Christmas they were advertising a kids type one that, not sure, was 300X and for less. Myself, I just use magnifying glasses on a stand, or with lights, or one on a headband and all available at my frienly flea market for a few dollars. Sorry about this but I just can not see blowing up anything on a coin for more than 5 to 10 times.

I have the IntelPlay QX3 microscope which is (I believe) the precursor to the QX5. Has the same magnification settings (10x, 60x, 200x). I love it... however, I can't get the whole coin in the image - usually crops off the top & bottom edge of the coin. I really like the fact that I can see the coin in great detail on my computer screen and if I want to take a snapshot of it, all I have to do is click the button. Need to find a way to photograph the *whole* coin now.
