What is the purpose of the registry?
If a registry is deemed necessary for a particular prefix than it is generally accepted amongst the collector community that the PREFIX (variation) is very tough & collectible. Registries are usually set up to get a grasp on the high & low serial number ranges.
With all due respect, I really doubt that entering your note(s) into a registry will affect the BV (unless there was a hoard discovered & several were entered- but this is pretty unlikely for the notes we're discussing). For 99% of the scarcer BoC issues full SN ranges were not released.
I believe registries are set up for getting a better picture of high & low serial number. If your note falls within the known ranges than your note would be expected to fetch a similar BV as catalogue. If the Serial Number (SN) of your note falls above or below the expected ranges the note may actually get a higher than expected Book Value. Usually registries show that certain small ranges (reams) of notes were released.
Although extensive ranges have been reported for the H/A it is doubtful that a full 10M were released. This has happened many times over (take the Osborne-Towers $5, the Devil Face replacements as examples). There are registries set up for the above & scarce replacements. The registries take up volunteer collector time so how well they're maintained is another matter.
Often bank distribution centres will get recalls. More recently the 2003 BER, BEK & BEL & the 2011 HAF-HAL $5 were recalled. There may be registries set up for these too.
That's my best guess. Hope that helps answer your question "DBM"
