Hi, I was just wondering how much this is worth and is it worth keeping it? Also, can I know the grade for this Coin?

The US still has dollar bills and these coins have never taken off. The post offices used to have vending machines that accepted them and gave them as change for large bills.

The only variation of that coin that does carry a premium would be the wide rim version and only 1979. That is when the numbers in the date nearly touch the rim, unlike the one that you have in which there is a space between the two.
Don't be discouraged, however, valuable stuff can show up at any time.

No harm in keeping it if you like. I have several but I know they are spendable.

As far as grade ...? I really wouldn't hazzard a guess but it's scratched and I think that the SBA's that would have a premium value would be uncirculated.

It really is only worth face value and will not likely be worth more than face value in our life times.
