I asked for a $25 box but was told that they didn't have any. I'm not sure if I believe the one teller. She seemed too quick to say that they didn't have any. (my wife just got me my 1st box ever from the same branch on Saturday which contained all BWR) Anyway, the nice teller I was dealing with accommodated me with $25 in loose rolls. So I just walked out of my local BOA with a plastic bag with 40 CWR & 10 BWR. Out of curiosity I opened one of the odd looking CWR in my truck and gave a quick look... mostly zincolns .

Has this happened to anyone, being told they are out of boxes of cents? If so how was it handled?
Rest in Peace

I believe most people, including bank tellers, are honest.

If they say they don't have any, they probably don't. There might have been someone in 10 minutes before you that nabbed their last one and that could also be the reason she knows so quickly that they are out of stock.

it is not unusual for a bank to not have a box of cents to sell. Some get enough from customers so they do not have to regularly order them from Brinks type companies.

If you're a variety hunter, the Zincolns have loads of possibilities.

Yeah I didnt want to question her honesty at all and be pushy about double checking for a box, so I just expressed gratitude for getting what I could. Maybe next time Ill call ahead to see if they have a box or try a different branch. The BWRs seemed to pay off more with the wheats.

I finished my quick sort of wheats, canadians, LMC and zincolns. Ill post results in the appropriate thread.

Go across the street to the next nearest bank is how I'd handle it! :-)
