Coin is in a 62 holder. Looks much better to me. Very clean cheek and fields. Strike on the reverse seems weak, but should that hold this to a 62? What would you grade it? Thank you.

63 at best, hard to tell what's under the toning

Tough one to grade from photos only as the toning on the obverse could be camouflage. Very weak reverse strike. NGC generally dislikes heavy tone on Morgan's while PCGS likes it. If you really want a 63, I'd try PCGS.

It could make 63 on another day but as already mentioned, it is nearly impossible to grade a coin with this much toning from static photos. If this coin had been an earlier stage of toning with more vibrant colors NGC may have given it the bump to 63 but this just not happen with 4th cycle toned Morgans, however. Have you VAMmed it yet?

Not worth having regraded. Like the others have said, MS-63 at best.

I think MS-62 is right on for the grade.

Thanks for the replies. Felt like NGC was a little tough on this one. It isn't worth resubmitting.

technically MS63, however, eye appeal must be accounted for and they most likely dinged it a point for that.

Pics are a bit blurry so I can't see the fields all that well. So I'll stick to what NGC had to say, MS62.

That series of hits under the eye hold it back. 62 seems like the right grade.

I'm guessing a 63*. It's hard to depict toning in shots like this. That obverse might really be "star-worthy" in hand. PG

The toning might be hiding something. I think MS-62 is an accurate grade.
