I found these yesterday on my rounds of shop I check weekly.
I spent a whopping $2.75 for both

They are both copper-nickel.

The top one is Portuguese, 1 Escudo. (KM 578)

The bottom one is Spanish, 5 Pesetas. (KM 786) The design is the 1957 design. The actual year the coin was minted will be in the little star on the reverse.

44, we should all check the corner flea markets more often. I seldom do but always seem to find something when I take the time.

I´m afraid both coins are common. The Spanish one was produced in huge figures. The coin from Portugal is more interesting, but unfortunately, this type was in circulation during many years, so only VF coins start to have a higher value.

I agree with kreuzer. Although the portuguese escudo is a key date (only 1.9M minted), it is pretty worn. It´s I pretty rough shape around the edges too.

The one in my collection is in better shape than this one but I dis pay a bit more for it...
