I have little knowledge of Lance Armstrong's capabilities except that he wins a lot. But I have a query: when these coins are originally offered for sale, are purchasers permitted to buy more than one or are they restricted sales? Fred

A lot of coins are not sold out and still on offer at the Monnaie de Paris They go on ebay below what the original price was I only know dealers get about 30% discount and non European EEC countries get like 20 % taxdiscount The way ebayers in Germany are selling them I am sure they offer tenpacks etc... But like I said if you do not get the discount the secondary market may be cheaper ( at least for me as a EEC country inhabitant it is) If it does not say epuise in the colom price then it should be still available http://boutique.monnaiedeparis.fr/c...istepus.htm#

The link I posted gets you straight to the page with the tematic names If you click on it you get a table with the coins and can see the price if they are still available Allthough they seem not consistent in some tables they write epuise in other tables if you click left in the table you get the message not available instead of a picture

Interesting. As you said, for the most part, they're selling on ebay for well below what they originally cost, even with the dealers' 30% discount. The Louisiana coin is a good example: new at 479 € , but it's currently only at about 279 € although the auction isn't quite done yet. Somebody is losing a lot of money.

I think the dealers get 30% off a single coin but I expect they got more off 10 packs And several coins are allready coming out of inheritances witnessed by coins were the certificate or the box are allready lost in 3 years time I bid 15% over melt on one of those 2002 coins and was second bidder lost by 1 euro

This should be interesting. I put this into my watch list although I don't know if it'll show up in My North America ebay summary or not since it's ebay Deutschland (mein ebay); it accepted my username and password. With only 99 minted and five ounces of gold, it should go for a minimum of roughly $US 2250 melt; it's got a long way to go.

I was able to put it into my North America Watch List by entering the auction number into N Am ebay Search. The Jule Verne is now well over $US 3000, so it's showing good action and a hefty profit for someone. Supply and demand. With only 99 produced, I'd bid on it if I had the money to spare. However, I don't and the auction states (I think) he ships to Germany only. In situations like that, if I want' something and there's shipping or other restrictions on it, I contact the seller to find out if he makes exceptions; in most instances, he will. Fred
