I know mint marks were added by hand so I'm sure it's not MD unless I'm not understanding right which could be but I'm still leaning towards PMD moved metal. Can anyone confirm this for me

Again best site I have found lots of help all the time I thank everyone that has given me input and has helped me start to learn the ropes of errors

yeah, looks like PMD to me, I think the same type hit affected the top of the 7, top left of the 5, most of the 9, top left of the 1, and the top left of the D

I'm in agreement, most 57 d's I've looked at had pretty crisp and standard MM's, would be very surprised if the mint did this, and the other damage noted by Fuzzy 317 pretty much ices it for me.

The mintmarks were hand-punched onto the dies until 1990. After the die was punched, everything on it (including the mintmark) was subject to MD, if it were to occur.
Rest in Peace

Fuzzy has it down pat. But I can see why you would ask about that particular mint mark as there is a lot going on near it and the date.
