I think this may be a school attendance medal. I've seen similar coin pendants described as two phoenix but they look more like peacocks to me.

Thank you Gary. Quite fascinating. I don't think of it as a fake, as the production values are too low. Rather, I believe it to be on a par with the souvenir coronation medals we are so used ti in the UK.
