hard to tell by pics
check weight and diameter
should be 1.67 grams and 15mm
looks VF IMHO

Better pictures - as in much closer and brighter would be of help. Is it 1854 or 1864? A genuine US 1 dollar gold coin will weigh 1.67 grams.

I hope these pic are better but thats all I have for the moment, the date is 1854 ,i will have weight and diameter checked

These were often faked not to fool coin collectors, but for the jewelry trade.
Quite often, they made of good quality gold. They are euphamistically known as 'jeweler's copies'. I would think they were made from recovered scrap gold.

I'm at EF-45 for grade. I don't see any warning signs that would hint of this being a fake. However, gold dollars are most certainly known for counterfeits.

As has been mentioned, a weight is your best defense against this being a fake.

Note that if you are intending TPG certification, these can be more expensive to have graded (by NGC) because of the 'odd' denomination.

I cannot comment on authenticity, but it looks at least EF-45.

Photos aren't the best to confirm authenticity, but this does look like it might be a Lebanese counterfeit. Razor sharp rim but lettering and over all details look mushy. My gut feel says fake on this one.
