1944-P Lincoln Cent 1DO-015

To those looking for an easy Doubled Die to find the 1944-P DDO's are very easy to pull out of 2x2 boxes as once you see the angle in the 4 of the date, you can assume high possibly of DDO.

I found this one right after the 1944-P Lincoln Cent 1DO-008 on Saturday in a discount 2x2 bin for 20 cents. It has the clash under the chin

I think this is correct 1944P-1DO-015 opinions, comments or feedback welcome.

the other one 1944P-1DO-008 Lincoln Cent found the same day

I'm not seeing any markers that look like 015 for this one. The one thing that stands out is the "I" in LIBERTY. Note on yours the "I" looks curved. The 015 shows it as straight.

So I would not conclude what number it is yet.

I thought only the 1DO-015 had the clash under the neck?
Rest in Peace

Do you realize that the clash under the chin looks exactly like the old Kroger's mascot? Perhaps this should be known as the Abe Kroger

Die clashes happen on most dies. They com and go with polishing. So probably every Wheat cent die would have at one time or another a clash on that area. It is just an event that happens over and over. I usually try to get at least two strong markers and the same doubling before I feel satisfied I have the correct die number. It does appear to have some class 6 doubling on the 44. So I feel it is not from that die. I would still save it. Someday, it might be listed/attributed in a die state that matches your coin?

So "at least two markers and same doubling" I will remember that I will need to slow down and focus more when I attempt to do the attribution part. Usually, I am in a rush to be off to find another coin.

I usually sort through coins and put the ones that I need to attribute aside and later, sort these. That way the search can continue if you have a large batch of coins.
