I have a 2007 sacagawea coin I cannot find anything online about this it also has some kind of coating on it like plastic or silcon? Any info would really help thanks

Looks like someone put a plastic or silicon coating on it.

It's a thin plating on the portrait. That happened after it left the mint and is considered damage to the original coin.

This has been done on lots of coins to sell to non-collectors. Those who make them promote them as something special to make profit. They are not special. Yours is worth $1.00.

In your way of handling coin, a finger print is left on the coin which will show up in a couple of years. It could not be removed and will dramatically reduce the attractive and value of any coins. Try to hold at edge.

Well since I was told the coin is just worth a dollar that doesn't really matter does it ? I was just interested in the coin like I said I haven't seen another one I didnt come on here to be told what I'm doing wrong or what it is worth just for info on the coin itself but thank you all for your replies

bre88 There are some interesting things that happen to coins once they leave the mint.
