moxking Rest in Peace United States 17900 Posts	Posted 02/17/2016 8:38 pm It's a thin plating on the portrait. That happened after it left the mint and is considered damage to the original coin. This has been done on lots of coins to sell to non-collectors. Those who make them promote them as something special to make profit. They are not special. Yours is worth $1.00. mdrosophila Pillar of the Community United States 724 Posts	Posted 02/17/2016 9:48 pm In your way of handling coin, a finger print is left on the coin which will show up in a couple of years. It could not be removed and will dramatically reduce the attractive and value of any coins. Try to hold at edge. Report this Post to the Staff
