1835 Coronet Large Cent - A recent acquisition from a fellow EAC'er, complete with envelope and cotton.

It's an N-8 (obv. bisecting die break starts @ 1, runs behind ear through RTY, and exits between S9-S10) -- seller graded VG8, I say net G5 avg, but we both graded it at the same price ($21) so it's now my coin.

Thoughts from CCF? I turned up the lighting a bit to try to get more of the die break to show up, but in hand, the color is very pleasant and the coin has good appeal.

As always -- thanks for looking and grading.

That's a nice honest coin, has a good look to it! G6, I think that's a fair price also!

I don't know much about EAC grading, but at first glance it looks VG08, but if you want to dock a couple of points, net VG06, no problem.

G6 sounds good to me. :)

EAC grading is difficult to master; I'm still a rank novice, but practicing on every large cent I can get ahold of. Apparently it can take many years to get "good" at it, even with help. EAC does tend to grade VERY conservatively, especially vs. TPG's (sometimes 15-20 or more points lower for the same coin.)

I agree with IndianGoldEagle. I think it wiggles up to VG-08. Considering the amount of circulation that it has seen it really doesn't have much in the way of problems. The color is very mellow, too.

Agree with IGE and mox. Most attractive for the grade.
