I have suspicions that this one may be counterfeit.

I haven't seen enough of these to know but I've studied the images of the 1885s in the Charlton and I can't tell a difference. It is the right OBV. and REV for the date. The date looks like a "curved top 5". If it's a fake, I'd guess it's of very high quality, I watch this with much interest.

Doesn't look right to me either.
Leaves too close to Crown, broken stems, misshapen leaves etc.
I don't believe the Obverse is right as well

F12
This one is not counterfeit.
All 1885's have the broken stems reverse.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Don't grade the Canada twenty five cents.

But, if nickelsguy says it looks o.k. to him, it must be o.k.

I guess I blew this one.
If nickelsguy says it's genuine, then it is.
I just thought that I remember reading somewhere that
if it had broken vines, it was counterfeit.
My apologies to Osiris.

Thanks for the feedback.

I figured it was F12, with the crown a little better than that, but the hair about right, and on a good day may rate a little higher (because it's my coin - human nature etc).
