I picked up a 1875-S Twenty Cent Piece yesterday and although it must be a long shot, I need to know what identifying characteristics there are between the normal 1875-S and the 1875-S BM Twenty Cent Pieces. Either way, it will be sent in to PCGS sometime in April when I return home. I just want to make sure I am identifying it correctly. Pictures of the differences or good links to articles/threads would be appreciated. Thanks guys!
We would need pictures. The 1875-s 20 Cent is strange because the dies used to strike the Branch Proofs were used to strike a TON of business strikes. So much that it carries zero premium.
The diagnostics of the proof dies are actually pretty easy. The hard part is finding one that can actually be authenticated as a BM.
