Check out this listing ... http://www.ebay.com/itm/1861-S-Seat...AOSwX~dWr9HMIn actuality, this is a modern replica of a Confederate Half, awaiting a sucker bid for $99. Here are pics of the seller's so-called "1861-S Seated Liberty half dollar" Here's the seller's description & disclaimer: "1861 Seated Liberty half dollar. Pics are enlarged to show as much detail as possible. however they do not show anywhere near the beauty of this coin, its much more beautiful to see and touch in person.I am not a coin expert and have not had the coin graded. It looks authentic to to me based on what I have read on the internet. It could be worth thousands if so. Or if not it is still a fine piece to add to a collection. This coin was inherited and has always been well kept . You will receive the exact coin in pics. I will not refund money after you the day you receive the coin simply because I dont want people buying it and sending it back which will risk it getting damaged or lost and decrease the value. Thanks!"

First of all, you can believe everything you read on the Internet, can't you. Seller seems to be pretty on the ball, if you asked me.
Of course, if you detect a wee bit of sarcasm you are probably more on the ball than the seller of the coin :)
With as little as I know, I'd stay away from it :)

It sounds silly. It looks silly. It is silly.
The photos are good enough to see that it's a poor quality casting. Museum shop stuff.

I like the part where the seller writes: Quote: I will not refund money after the day you receive the coin simply because I don't want people buying it and sending it back, which will risk it getting damaged or lost and decrease the value. Well, he better check the terms and conditions of his auction, which clearly state: Quote: 14 days money back, buyer pays return shipping

Ugh. Everything about that advertisement is puffery.
It will be sad if it is sold.
