I think I heard that mark on the ear is actually MD, which is why it's so common and people post suspected '84 DD ears like this all the time. The real '84 DD ear is VERY obvious as the picture above shows

I have an 84 quite like yours Mdnyte, thought it was double ear also. The real thing will be unmistakable now tho.

That's what they suggested earlier. Mine defenitly doesn't look like real one lol, but I'll keep looking.
