Hey Guys. No idea what this is. Wasn't even sure what to search in google to try and get any sort of information. Hopefully someone here can give me some insight on where this coin is from and what is potentially can cost.

Thanks in advance

Purports to be a rare tetradrachm of Syracuse, Sicily, with Arethusa obverse, quadriga reverse. I recommend posting to the ancients board for more info/opinions.

Should I make a new post there? Or there anyway to move this current one to that subforum? Sorry I'm still pretty new here

I believe this to be a cast copy. Can you provide a picture of the edge and a size and weight of the coin?

I don't have a scale so I cant really guess how much it weighs. But it does have some weight to it

It is a cast copy. Probably made to sell to unwary tourists.

This is the second "old coin" that a friend has brought over to me thinking he struck gold. Glad I'm not the one spending money on them

The edge tells all. That line along the edge confirms it's a fake.
