I picked this up in a lot of early Morgan silver dollars. It rings like Silver, weight is 26.9 grams, Diameter is 38.6 and milled edge.
I think it is from Japan?

Value or Grade? Genuine or fake?

any help is appreciated! Thanks! RK

Weight seems good, diameter is good, the only thing is the 6 in 416 looks weird to me. Looks to be dated 1875 based on Numista

I for one cannot say without some reservation. So I am a poor one to ask. I have coins no different than yours and some are and some are not genuine. It can be a hard call just by pictures and given information. There are 13 or 14 or so tests for genuine silver that can tell you more meaningful information. And that could be more comforting than opinions about pictures. But to answer your question, it looks good and I might expect it to be good unless I found out other reasons telling me it isn't.

It looks OK. The bottom left part of the 6 in 416 looks a bit thin, but I think that is due to the lighting and the small size of the image.

Some pics of unc coins:

1) date is indeed 1885
2) it is not very valuable
3) it is not scarce or rare.
It is possible real, comparing the details.

So try a magnet or the ice or ping test.

Corrections welcome

It passes the magnet test, first thing I did. ping test a-ok.

I had a local collector look at it and he gave it a thumbs up. not my area of expertise or a coin I collect.

Threw it up on the Bay.
