coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 02/26/2016 8:57 pm Keep in mind the large date copper cents that year had wider devices. The normal ones are wide, but show no spread. Here is an example. A side by side comparison: Note the spread on the 002 DDOs? Your coin is normal but the contact on the devices makes it look distracting. Check another coin from the same year. (the years with large and small dates will be different though from the large and small dates. 1982 has 7 different business strike year varieties.
