1880 Indian Head Cent - MPD-002, Pun-007?

I was going through a small group of Indian Head cents I just purchased and, upon examining this 1880, saw that the date looked unusual.

I did some online research and think it may be a MPD-002,PUN-007.

I've attached photos including one from indianvarieties.com.

Does it look like a match?

If it is, is there any added value to the coin in this grade, or is it more a curiosity piece?

I agree with your findings. I also checked Snow's attribution guide and he has a number of varieties listed with one or both 8's broken. He also has only one listed that has an MPD along with broken 8's, and it does not match your coin. It could be a newer find that is not listed in my edition of the attribution guide. For most of the varieties he gives either a one or to star rating, so I imagine that there is not much of a premium attached, but it is still a neat find.
