I was trying to find a book by Q. David Bowers, but it appears that he did not write one? Is this correct? If not, which book(s) would you recommend? I'm thinking of starting this set, but I first want to do some research. Thanks!

Kevin Flynn is well known as the author of books on many 19th century series, including the Barber coins. Look for "Authoritative Reference on Barber dimes", "..Barber Quarters"

QDB did write a book on Barber coins as well, volume #20: "A Guide Book of Barber Silver Coins", by Q. David Bowers, available on Amazon or at B&N or other bookstores.

I'll need to look up the Bowers book, Thanks.

IMO, Flynn book on Barber halves is not worth the price. I have one and it is 25% or less on those coins and the rest filler from his other books. The title is very deceiving!

Borrow one from the ANA Library and see for yourself.
