As soon as I opened the capsule, I saw this nasty yellow crap. And it seems like the denticles are completely worn out in the area of the yellow crap. I'm planning to throw this on ebay for my March Break sale. Any idea what error this is? P.S. this is the Nickel version of the coin, not silver. What could cause the yellowing/worn out denticles? Looks like a minor strike through of some kind... possibly with retained grease on the obverse.
This is the coloured puck loon dollar - which is also the same coin that many people used acetone to remove the paint, and try to sell as an 'unplated' loon dollar error...

What is the yellow stuff? Grease?
You can remove the paint, but you can't remove the Inukshuk design as it is struck on the coin. However the Hockey loonies can be completely stripped to nothing.

Be very careful if you decide to remove the grease with acetone - you will also remove the painted design.

Doesn't seem too valuable of an error is it?
Keep or sell? NCLT errors are fairly less common right?

Quote: You can remove the paint, but you can't remove the Inukshuk design as it is struck on the coin. Exactly - so it looks like the normal 2010 Olympic loon, which folks tried to pass off as an 'unplated error'...

Not dramatic enough to be valuable, maybe a $5 premium over retail value of the coin. I would love to put that one under the SEM at work, and see exactly "what" the grease is...
