I'm trying to get a good enough picture, supposed but having a hard time with my phone. I found a 1986 obvious double dated 1986 Lincoln Cent that ate looks like it could have almost 3 images and I'm curious to know if anybody knows about this as I continue to try to get a picture that will do it justice. I'm literally new but I went to the Heritage Auctions show in LA and I know what I have. I've not been able to find one comparable. The 8th and 1986 is almost comparable to the 1955 if strange and in really good shape I'm also looking to sell if anybody is interested please message me and I will show it

You can't sell until you've had enough posts. If you provide a photo we can offer opinions on value.

Without photos your explanation will not gain any opinions.

Tips for taking pictures with a camera phone:

- Use a flat backdrop for taking the photo: dark backing for a light colored coin and light for a darker coin (contrast)
- Set the coin on the backdrop with indirect lighting (in most instances) from a couple sources to reduce shadows
- Use a heavy 'tripod' to rest the camera phone on while lining up your picture (I use a can filled with quarters); the mass of your tripod will steady your shot
- Use a 'tripod' that sets your subject coin at approximately the optimal focal length of your camera feature (my coin can is about 3" tall and with a small zoom, the coin fills the frame)
- Take pictures of the full coin and capture adjacent devices in the shot (this will help with the groups' diagnostic of your coin)
- If you find markers, take pictures of those that correspond with known markers listed by sites like Coppercoins, Wexler's Doubled Dies, Variety Vista, etc.)

Great advice Rackster. I never thought about using a tripod for my iPad when taking pictures and using several lights from different angles. I always learn something new when reading someone else's post.

Best to only use one light and not too strong. A single light will give light and shadow. Two lights just give light and light and no shadows. The shadows help show roundness of the devices. Note how the light and shadows show roundness on these devices:

It shows the spread a lot better. With more than one light, the shadows go away.
