Here is another Seated Liberty dime I dug up recently. This one, unlike the other 1875-S I posted recently, has what I believe may be a filled micro S mintmark. I also noticed that it has die cracks on the reverse in a few areas. I have yet to determine if it is a known variety.

Do you mean dug, as in from the ground? Or dug out of an old pile? Because that is a really nice coin for a dug from ground

Yes, dug from the ground. Thankfully most of the silver coins I have found while metal detecting over the years have held up well though buried in the ground for decades.
Rest in Peace

Yes, it does appear to be a micro S. I'm not familiar enough with SLD to help w the specific variety. Another great find. We just received another 4" of snow this AM so I'm still waiting to get out hunting again.

Since you have the dime in hand see if you can match up the diagnostics, there are only 6 varieties for the 1875-S Micro S. http://www.seateddimevarieties.com/..._varpage.htm Click on the Var# to see images for that particular variety.

I have an idea of which variety # yours is however, I want to give you and others a chance to try your hand at attributing first.

Thanks for the confirmation moxking. And you have more snow down your way? Hopefully it will melt fast enough. It's been mild here and no snow remains on the ground. I wish I could get out more often to swing the coil, but work gets in the way.

I just took a closer look at the coin. It matches Micro S - Variety 102a. The die cracks on the obverse on my coin are not as discernible due to wear, but they are there. Thank you for including that page!

F-102a was my thought as well. The curved crack at the top of the wreath connecting the wheat kernels and the curved one under the wheat leaf on the right wreath above the ear of corn fit the bill.

Congrats.
