1991-D Jefferson nickel DDR

Decided to go through years I have no varieties for

No varieties listed for 1991 on BVC

http://www2.briansvarietycoins.com/listings/cat/55

But it looks good for DDR? Has light spread similar to the 1981-d

oh wait let's try Variety Vista I found a couple

http://www.varietyvista.com/26%20Mi...20nickel.htm

http://www.varietyvista.com/26%20Mi...20nickel.htm

but they all look the same they not right and where are the markers

http://www.varietyvista.com/Variety....htm#_1991-D

Light vertical die scratch through O of OF

there we go 1991-D DDR-006

Oh boy looks like all sort of years I never knew of on this unfinished new version of the site.

You might change the direction of the angle you are taking your images. The glare covers a lot of the area we want to see. A diffuser might help also. But let the light fall over devices where you want to show hub doubling. When you place a spot light on them, it turns too bright and hides what you want to show. (The angle of your light seems to be too low affecting just the edges of the devices)

Getting better. Note now how we can see the hub doubling. They the lighting from the opposite side? Note how the doubling on the 'IB' is getting better on the second image? The second image may have had some glare off something. But this is an improvement.

The more diffusing will keep off the white light:

The light is use is a 14 volt. (not watt) just a bit stronger than flash light, and then it is diffused to remove glare.

Interesting - what is meant that it can be found in mint sets? In mint sets only, or in mint sets ALSO?

The 1981-D DDR-001 is only found in mint cellos
this 1991-D is found in mint sets also cause one I found was in 2x2 and I think my coin has business strike rim?

Your coin does look like a business strike...which is encouraging...but personally disappointing. I stopped looking for the 1991D a while back because I took CONECA's note to mean only in mint sets rather than in mint sets also.

coop - I was referring to the note in the links Ocala provided. That was the source of my confusion...sorry if I passed that confusion along.

I've thought on a few occasions that it might be worth looking for varieties found in mint sets/cellos amongst the business strikes/circulated coins. I did find a 1968S Proof DDO in a roll of nickels, so in a remote sense, it is possible to find a segment variety mixed in. But where to draw the line?

You had a good eye to spy that amongst the circulated coins.
