Is the Toonie in that photo a German? Because mine looked like that.

Just realized I can't find this set on ebay. I shouldn't have tore it open. x_x

All the ones on ebay have the Specimen $2+Banknote. Ugh

Even if it is there are like 20 million or so German versions.

I doubt that that set has much extra value as a set so I would not fret about opening it.

German toonies in high grades are scarce and of value. I sold one....I think it was certified MS65.....for something close to $100 as I recall.

But US$100 for the set with the coin in what looks like MS60 - 62 seems kind of high to me. Hard to tell from the photo if it is a German planchet. Perhaps the toonie experts will chime in.

It is almost impossible to determine the planchet source for 1996 $2 coins with photographs on the internet. You need really good lighting conditions and the coin in hand to do so.
