Just looking for some help on the value of this stater of Alexander the Great, Amphipolis, 330-320bc in an upcoming auction.

Beautiful coin, wish I could afford one of these. I would say around $5000-$6000.

I recommend using CNG's "Research Sold Items" search function. It's a great resource, with prices realized in CNG's past sales, including their Coin Shop, eAuctions, and Printed Auctions. Thousands of coins in the database...very useful.

Yeah that was one of the first things I checked however between firms prices do differ somewhat

$4000 is a bottom end steal price. Anything between that and $5000 is reasonable. Above $5000 just depends on the bidders and where the auction is being held.

Some prices realized on acsearch range from $2500 up to $9000 depending on condition.
