Wow.

That is an absolutely stunning strike and a drop dead gorgeous Barber half.

I'd say MS64+ and it almost appears prooflike. In fact, given how razor-sharp the details are, it looks like a proof. Is it? If so, easy PR64 or PR65.

Can see some light peripheral obverse toning.

Thanks for your reply...very much. There is no toning. Just bad imaging on my part. This one is one of the best my wife has been given by her father, at least to my absolutely no nothing eye. I'm trying to develop a standard method of photographing these many coins, but they always look better in hand than in my pictures....especially the gold pieces and lusterous morgans....more pictures to come....thanks again for your generous comments. Ill have a new camera Monday.
Rest in Peace

, with paralyse . I have never seen that sharp of horizontal and vertical lines on the shield of a circulation strike Barber coin. looks PR-65 .

Nice looking coin! Agree with MS-64 based on these photos. Has a nearly proof level of strike.

(note - this could certainly be proof and I'd agree with a PR-65 type grade if that's the case. Don't really know this series well enough to tell)

Wow! That is a nice coin! Make sure to handle that one from the edges only to avoid fingerprints.

Thank you all for the information on this coin. It came from Gulf Coast Precious Metals in 1979 graded MS64 and has been in a safe ever since. You folks are very good graders! I look forward to your input on more coins as I learn to photograph them properly.
