Vintage French coins are some of the most beautiful and ornate coins ever minted. I love them. It's hard to find them though.

I've found "vinatge" French coins from the early 1900's to be quite plentiful and all ove ebay.

If by vintage - you are referring to the very late 19th and early 20th century Art Deco issues - I totally agree. They are beautiful examples of the coiner's art. Personally I love the bronze 5 and 10 centimes and the series with the holes in the center. They are cheap in nice grades and can be collected very reasonably. I would suggest coin shows and shops for this type because unless you get a large group they are unlikely worth paying postage costs.

If you are referring to the earlier issues in silver particularly the Napoleon issues - watch for modern Chinese copies. They look good in pictures but are lifeless castings in person.
