My work is outside and I'm isually slow in the winter thus a lot of time to collect coins but with Spring just around the corner the jobs are coming in and I've got to swing my hammer again .....
I usually don't stop altogether but I also love to garden, so that takes time away from collecting coins .....
Anyone else do more with their coins in the winter and put away for the summer?

I have noticed that coin collecting activity increases a little in the coldest of the U.S. States, during winter.

I golf a lot when it's warm enough to, so yes, that takes a lot of my coin time in the summer. I still look, just don't buy as much. Been doing a lot of research for my first slabbed purchase, that will probably be my last big spend before fall forces me back inside.

Yes for those of us that are in the cold winter area of N. America to get back outside and catch up on outside work does slow down on coin collecting. I also do a lot of RV camping in the summer and fall and you can't take a lot of stuff with you.

Outside activities tend to put the focus on coin collecting on the back burner.I do long touring rides on my motorcycle in the summer.I get out to areas that seem to have a better variety of circulating coinage than back home.Since most of my collecting now is from pocket change,I collect good quality coins during the summer and organize them in the rainy dull winter months.

I understand your plight. I don't have enough time for all I need to get done from spring - fall. I'm a house builder, which gets quite busy, add in my own yard work/gardening, bird-watching hobby, scuba diving & hunting in the fall. I have way too much spare time on my hands in the winter months, that where collecting comes in handy

Why don't you try to go to bed later and get up earlier? Or turn off TV. You just need more hours in the day instead of less time on collecting. LOL

Wonder if there is any evidence that ebay sales volumes or prices are seasonal, i.e. lower in summer months because of lower collecting activity?
