You should probably use one light source and diffuse it.

Thank you CoinMasters. #128532;. I did use one light source. What needs to be diffuse? I'm confused as to what you mean.

Some of the pictures show you had another light on. You at least need to diffuse your primary light source, it's tough to tell what's really there with all the glare. You could try a sheet or two of paper in front of your light, or maybe less watts.

Thank you CoinMasters, it was the same light in the same area I just use 2 coffee filters taped over my light and if it appears to be a glare I put a dark plastic bag over that to disfuss the light if there appears to be to much glare which seems to be more often than not. It takes a lot to try to get good enough pictures in order for others to see and I apologize again these pictures always seem to be badly taken. In the future maybe it's best not to put so much time into trying to get the perfect picture but in not an expert and maybe I'm wasting everyone's time in here. I'm sorry Many times I spend hours trying so hard and I can't tell you how dissapointing it is to see these comments all the time. We're not all professionals in here and only come in here to learn about coins it's a shame to spend so much time to hear these comments.when the majority of us that come in here are not working with professional equipment in order to get the best picture. Sorry again. Goodnight

You mighty try cutting a circle of bond paper and put that between your two filters to see if it cuts the glare. Not real expensive, but the results are worth it. If you has an unwanted secondary light source, try placing you hand in different positions and see if you can determine the direction. Then tape a facial tissue to block the unwanted light. (windows/room lights/glare off a shiny object will create a glare. Block the light, and you will see the difference in your images. (none of these suggestions are expensive, just takes time to see what works)

Your pictures are much better than mine were when I first signed on here. Your equipment could not be less expensive than mine. If you are serious about your desire to learn about coins, you must also learn some photography. I say that because good advice requires good pictures. You are lucky, you only have to learn some photography and coins. I didn't even know how to upload a picture. It can be discouraging or it can be rewarding. At one time or another we all make that choice.

And no one is making comments on your pics in order to knock you I can assure you that-it's only to help you and for that clear pictures are the most important way to get clear answers. Keep practicing-I use only an iphone,a loupe and the 'ollo clip' app and with a little practice I got my pictures where they needed to be and really it did not take too long...lighting and a steady hand are probably paramount, good luck!

Thank you Coop, CoinMasters and Slamnbass. I appreciate it, I'm just frustrated with myself with the picture taking. I sometimes spend hours to trying to get that close up to the point of pulling every muscle in my neck so I'm going to keep trying with the pictures until they come out better. Please trust me when I say I appreciate any advice, it will be a long time If ever I'll be a pro with coins, but I love to know as much as possible when it comes to coins. I'm addictive to pennies now and so bad I was at Mohegan Sun last week and was drawn right to the "penny" slot machine cause it had all them shiny pennies flashing away lol. Anyway I truly do appreciate the comments I'm just frustrated with myself on the pictures. I'm going to keep practing and it may be awhile when I post again but hopefully everyone will get a clearer picture cause It's you guys that are teaching us, and we all appreciate each and everyone of you and your knowledge of coins. Thank you
